BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (AP) -- LSU says it has officially added defensive end Deondre Clark to its 2014 class of recruits.
Clark, who was a running back and defensive end in high school in Oklahoma City, was expected to join LSU when most schools announced their recruiting classes last Wednesday but did not sign his letter of intent until Monday.
Clark had 22 sacks for Douglass High School last season and also rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was credited with 61 sacks during his high school career.
LSU coach Les Miles calls Clark a versatile player who fills a need for the Tigers and will "be able to come in and compete for playing time right away."
