You might think that as the new kids on the SEC's block, Missouri's players would be a bit cautious about handing their opponents some bulletin-board material. Tiger defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson, however, wants to let you know you'd think wrong.

With his team's hotly anticipated SEC debut against Georgia on deck for this Saturday, Richardson was asked by the Columbia Daily Tribune if he'd watched the Bulldogs' ho-hum 45-23 win over Buffalo.

"I watched that game. I turned it off, too," Richardson said. "It's* like watching Big Ten football. It's old-man football."

That will no doubt be news to the Bulldogs (partciularly given that between Aaron Murray's repeated attempts to go deep and Todd Gurley's big plays, creating offensive excitement was far from Georgia's problem). And we're not sure many people would find the Tigers' 62-10 annihilation of outmanned FCS opponent Southeastern Louisiana appointment viewing, either.

But that wasn't all Richardson had to say about the upcoming showdown.

"If we execute," he said, "nobody in this league can touch us. Period."

Forgive us the old meme, but we wonder if more of Missouri's future SEC opponents -- and one in particular headed to Columbia Oct. 13 -- might have something to say about that:

In the end, Richardson's comments won't actually have any effect on Saturday's game--as the old saying goes, if the Bulldogs needed something like this to sharpen their focus or raise their motivation, they weren't preparing correctly anyway.

But if Georgia does come away from Faurot Field with the victory -- especially one in which Murray and Co. use their "old man" approach to hang a gaudy number on the Mizzou defense -- we strongly suspect Richardson's going to hear about it.

*According to Missouri student newspaper The Maneater, Richardson was applying these comments to watching the entire SEC--not just Georgia. Since those comments were in response to watching Georgia's game in particular, though, that doesn't seem to change his opinion of the Dawgs.
