GAME NOTES: Game #27 at Vanderbilt

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — No. 10 Texas A&M (21-6, 11-2) travels to Nashville for the first time as members of the SEC to face-off with the Vanderbilt Commodores (17-9, 7-6) at 4:00 p.m. (CT) at Memorial Gym. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 with Adam Amin on play-by-play and Swin Cash providing commentary.

The Aggies and Commodores faced off earlier this season on the last day of January, the Aggies won 60-52 behind freshman Courtney Walker’s 20 points, matching a career high. Walker scored 14 points after the break on 7-of-7 shooting to spark the A&M comeback win. Walker was the only Aggie in double figures, but three others, Kelsey Bone, Kristi Bellock and Adrienne Pratcher, each poured in eight. Bone narrowly missed yet another double-double with a game-high nine rebounds.

Bone is coming off a career night against Ole Miss on Thursday, she pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds to go along with 24 points. The 17 rebounds effort for Bone was the best for an Aggie at Reed Arena and most since Yolanda Brown had 18 against SMU in Feb. 1993. Joining Bone in double figures was Pratcher with 13 points along with a career high six rebounds. Freshman Courtney Williams scored 11 and senior Bellock finished with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Texas A&M currents sits tied with Kentucky (23-3, 11-2) at second place in league standing, just one game back of Thursday’s opponent Tennessee (21-5, 12-1). Vanderbilt is currently tied with LSU at 7-6 in conference.

The Aggies lead the SEC in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, assist-to-turnover ratio and assists per game heading into the matchup with Vanderbilt. Individually, Bone leads the SEC in field goal percentage (second nationally) and rebounding and places third in scoring. Pratcher is currently first in the SEC and second nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.85) according to the latest NCAA stats release on Feb. 21.

Fans wishing to listen to the game can do so on the Texas A&M Radio Network with Mike Wright (play-by-play) and Steve Miller (commentary) on the call. The game will be broadcast in the Bryan/College Station area on KZNE 1150 AM.
