COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M soccer team will play fellow Southeastern Conference teams in front of a national audience three times during the 2012 regular season, the conference office announced Wednesday.
The Aggies’ Sept. 30 match at Mississippi State will air on Cox Sports Television (CST) at 2 p.m. A pair of home games, including A&M’s Oct. 7 match vs. Florida and Oct. 25 season closer vs. Missouri, will also be broadcast live. The game against the Gators will be shown on ESPNU at 2 p.m., and the matchup with the Tigers will air on SportSouth at 7 p.m.
"The SEC has a fantastic TV package for soccer and we're so excited to be on some of their featured matches,” head coach G Guerrieri said. “It will be neat for our fans to be able to catch our game in Starkville on TV, and cool to have the 12th Man featured in our home games vs. Florida and Mizzou."
All CST and SportSouth games will also be made available on ESPN3.com, while each ESPNU match will be streamed on WatchESPN. The SEC Tournament Championship, slated for Sunday, Nov. 4 at 2:30 p.m., will air on ESPNU. All times are Central.
"In addition to those SEC matches, our nonconference match against Long Beach State (September 7) will be carried on the FOX Soccer Channel," Guerrieri said.
A&M will get air time on Sept. 7 when the Aggies’ home match vs. Long Beach State is featured as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Game of the Week on FOX Soccer.
The Aggies ended a 16-year run in the Big 12 with a 12th-and-final Big 12 Championship before ending the season in the NCAA Tournament for a 17th-consecutive year. The 2012 squad will make its SEC debut on Sept. 14 at LSU.
