COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Big 12 Tournament champion Texas A&M women’s basketball team (26-7) will host an NCAA Selection Show Watch Party on Monday, March 17 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Above the Rim Club located on the third floor of Reed Arena.
Join Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair and his coaching staff and players for Selection Monday as the field of 64 teams for the 2008 Division I Women’s Basketball Championship will be announced live on ESPN at 6 p.m. (CT). The event is open to the public with fans of all ages encouraged to attend.
Last season, the nationally-ranked Aggies made their fourth all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and received a program-best No. 4 seed in the Dallas Regional. A&M previously received at-large bids in 1994 (NCAA Sweet 16), 2006 (NCAA First Round) and 2007 (NCAA Second Round). The Aggies received an automatic bid in 1996 (NCAA First Round) and now in 2008.
NCAA regional sites this year include New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Greensboro, N.C. and Spokane, Wash. First-and second-round sites include Albuquerque, N.M., Baton Rouge, La., Des Moines, Iowa, Stanford, Calif., Bridgeport, Conn., College Park, Md., Norfolk, Va. and West Lafayette, Ind. The 2008 NCAA Women’s Final Four will be held on April 6 & 8 in Tampa, Fla.
