Birmingham – The Southeastern Conference announced Texas A&M senior Kristi Bellock as a member of the 2013 SEC Women’s Basketball Community Service Team this morning.
Bellock has been active in the Bryan/College Station area for the past four years including helping with the Southwood Elementary Fall Fest, Green Prairie Elementary Book Fair, Project Unity Fall Fest, Bonham Elementary pep rally, Brazos Valley Food Bank, FCA Game Day and a basketball clinic at The White House when the 2011 National Championship team was recognized by the President.
In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the SEC once again highlighted a Community Service Team for women's basketball for the 2012-13 season.
This marks the 15th year for the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball as well as for men's basketball. All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.
Bellock and the rest of the team are listed below.
The Aggies will return to the court in Duluth, Ga. at the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament against an undetermined opponent. The winner of Alabama and Mississippi State will take on South Carolina for the right to take on A&M Friday at 1:30 pm (CT) at the Gwinnett Center.
