COLLEGE STATION, TX -- Next Saturday the Aggies will host the Reveille Invitational to open an indoor track and field season that will have Texas A&M hosting six indoor meets at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium during the 2013 season, including a high school invitational.

The Reveille Invitational, held on December 8, will feature Houston and UT-San Antonio competing in 11 events. The two-hour meet will start at 4 p.m. and the events contested will include: 60m, 800m, Mile, 5000m, 60 Hurdles, 4x400 relay, high jump, pole vault, long jump, shot put and weight throw.

One significant change for this upcoming indoor track and field season is the absence of NCAA automatic qualifying standards in each event. Instead fields of 16 participants per gender in individual events and 12 relays per gender will qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championship field.

Last season the Texas A&M women tied for fifth while the Aggie men tied for eighth at the NCAA Indoor meet after sweeping indoor conference team titles. Over the past four seasons A&M has finished second three times at the NCAA Indoor Championships – the women in 2009 and the men in 2010 and 2011.

Following the holiday break, the Aggies will host the Texas A&M High School Invitational on January 4-5. Then A&M hosts three more collegiate meets in January, plus a fourth in February.

On January 12 the Texas A&M 12-Team Invitational features programs from Texas as the Aggies host Baylor, Houston, North Texas, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Texas State, UTA and UTSA.

A triangular meet on January 19 pits three elite programs as A&M battles Arkansas and LSU. The three schools have combined for 16 NCAA team titles between indoor and outdoor seasons over the past 10 years.

The Texas A&M Mondo Challenge follows on January 25-26, pitting the SEC against the Big 12 and Pac-12. The Aggies and Tennessee will represent the SEC with Texas Tech and TCU from the Big 12 while Arizona State and USC represent the Pac-12.

Following a road trip to New York City for the Armory Collegiate Invitational on February 1-2, the final Aggie home meet will occur on February 9 with the Texas A&M Invitational. Teams competing include Cal State Northridge, Houston, Rice, TCU, Texas State and UTEP.

Postseason meets will have the Aggies traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the SEC Championships on February 22-24 and again for the NCAA Indoor Championships held March 8-9.
