A&M's Bernbaum Named Big 12 Rider of the Month

IRVING, Texas—Texas A&M sophomore Lindsey Bernbaum was named the final Big 12 Equestrian Rider of the Month for the discipline of reining, the conference office announced Thursday.

A native of Dufur, Ore., Bernbaum’s monthly award was her second this season and the league-best seventh overall picked up by the Aggies.

Bernbaum won a discipline-best five rides over the months of March and April to lead the Aggies to the NCEA National Championship and the program’s unprecedented fourth-straight NCEA western title. She had two wins against Oklahoma State’s first-team All-American Caroline Daniels, including one in the NCEA finals that helped lift A&M to the western national title. The sophomore was unbeaten in her final six rides of the season.

Texas A&M closed its 13th varsity season last week by capturing the National Collegiate Equestrian Association national championship, the program’s second, and its fourth straight NCEA western national title.
