COLLEGE STATION, TX -- For the second straight season Texas A&M swimmers Alyssa Conner and Cheyne Hermes were named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team and advance to the Academic All-America team ballot. Both Aggie student-athletes carry perfect 4.0 grade point averages in their respective degree plans.

Hermes, a junior economics major from Katy, Texas, also received special commendation on the Academic All-Big 12 Swimming and Diving for posting a 4.0 GPA. Hermes has earned All-Big 12 Conference honors the past two seasons. He ranks No. 10 on A&M's top performers list in the 100 breaststroke with a lifetime best time of 55.68 in 2011.

The 2011-12 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
