COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman met with the media Wednesday afternoon to talk about the Aggie football team's season opener with Louisiana Tech being postponed until October 13 due to Hurricane Isaac hitting Louisiana.
Hyman said a lot of different possibilities were looked at including playing on Friday or Saturday and evening moving the game to Kyle Field but in the end all the details could not be worked out. "I talked to our home game operations people, the possibility of if we had to come down here and play. We looked into our plane, could we allow Louisiana Tech to use our plane to come down here on the charter, we could not do that. There were a lot of possibilities we looked at, our least desirable from the get go, from their perspective and our perspective was playing the game on October 13th."
The Aggies will now open the 2012 season September 8 at Kyle Field against Florida. It will also be the program's first ever game in the Southeastern Conference.
