COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The No. 3 Texas A&M equestrian team (4-3, 0-3 SEC) will be back in the saddle this Saturday in the team’s spring opener at No. 5 Oklahoma State (5-3, 2-1 Big 12).

The meet will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Animal Science Arena in Stillwater, Okla. Fans wanting to keep up with the action as it happens should follow along on Twitter via @AggieEquestrian.
The fourth-ranked Aggies had a challenging start to their first season in the Southeastern Conference, facing five top-10 foes in seven fall meets. The team has garnered 17 of a possible 22 Most Outstanding Player (MOP) awards and has remained ranked among the top five in the nation throughout the season.

Senior Emily Williams took the first-ever Southeastern Conference (SEC) Over Fences Rider of the Month award in October, while senior Laura Brainard was named the month’s national Horsemanship MOP by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA).

A battle against former Big 12 opponent OSU will kick off the spring season for the Aggies, who hunt for their 12th national championship at the NCEA event in April. A&M leads the all-time series with the Cowgirls, 11-9, winning the most recent meeting for the NCEA Western National Championship in April of 2012.

After the meet at OSU, a pair of Aggies will compete at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) Collegiate Challenge in Wellington, Fla. on Feb. 8. To learn more about Texas A&M equestrian, log on to AggieAthletics.com and follow @AggieEquestrian on Twitter.
