COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The No. 26 Texas A&M men’s golf team will compete Monday and Tuesday at the SeaBest Invitational, hosted by the University of Jacksonville.

The fourth-annual, 54-hole tournament will be held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., on one of the nation’s most notable courses, TPC at Sawgrass. The teams will play on the Stadium Course, a par-72, 7,215-yard course which was named one of the country’s “Best 100 Golf Courses” by Golf Digest in 2011 and the “Best Course You Can Play in the State of Florida” by Golfweek.

“It’s great to finally get started up after the winter break and the guys are really excited to play again,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “I think it is pretty cool that we are starting our season off at one of the best courses in the country: TPC at Sawgrass, home of The Players’ Championship. Anytime you get to play a PGA Tour course, it gets the blood flowing a little and we tend to play a little better on more demanding courses so we are looking forward to this challenge.”

The tournament will mark the beginning of the spring season for the Aggies after the team ending the fall by placing sixth out of 14 schools at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas. Senior Cameron Peck finished the invitational in sixth place individually at four-under par, his first top 10 finish of the year.

In addition to Peck, the Aggies will be represented this week in Florida by freshman Ben Crancer, senior Drew Evans, junior Johannes Veerman and sophomore Greg Yates.

The first round begins at 7:15 a.m. (CT) on Monday with the second round immediately following. Live scoring for the event can be found at GolfStat.com.
