COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a chance to impress NFL teams on Thursday during his pro day at the McFerrin Athletic Center on the Texas A&M campus. Tannehill is projected to be a first round pick in the NFL Draft which will be held April 26-28.
FACTS FROM TEXAS A&M QUARTERBACK RYAN TANNEHILL’S PRO DAY WORKOUT IN COLLEGE STATION
*22 NFL clubs were represented and a total of 60 NFL personnel were on hand for the workout on Thursday, Mar. 29, 2012.
*Head coach Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks and head coach Joe Philbin of the Miami Dolphins were in attendance along with the Dolphins’ general manager Jeff Ireland. Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Brad Childress and Browns’ quarterback coach Mark Whipple were also in attendance.
*Tannehill ran one 40-yard sprint and was timed in a range of 4.58 to 4.62.
*He was led through passing drills by former Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke. The throws included 8-to-10 throws to stationary targets, approximately 50 routes to various receivers such as A&M running back Cyrus Gray and wide receiver Jeff Fuller and ended with 8-to-10 throws in the red zone.
*ESPN and the NFL Network sent crews to cover the workout in Texas A&M’s McFerrin Indoor facility.
*Every member of Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin’s staff was in attendance, as well as many of the Aggie football players including former teammate and quarterback Jerrod Johnson.
