ATLANTA – Texas A&M senior Tyra White was named All-Region by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Thursday.
From Kansas City, Mo., White was among 52 all-region selections across the nation. On, Monday, March 19, the selection committee will review these candidates and trim the list to 40 finalists, all of whom will be in the running for selection to the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Team.
White earned the honor for the second straight season and was a WBCA All-America Team Honorable Mention last season.
White is A&M’s leading scorer with 13.5 point per game. The six-foot guard has started 29 games this season, adds 5.6 rebounds per game, and has reached double figures in 25 contests. She has led the Aggies in scoring 10 times and in rebounding seven times. She is in A&M’s career top 10 in points, field goals made, 3-point field goal percentage and rebounds.
