Aggies Fall World Series Starts on Tuesday

COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The Texas A&M Baseball team will wrap-up offseason workouts this week when the Aggies take part in the annual Fall World Series.

The best-of-three series is scheduled to start Tuesday, Oct. 16 with games each of the next two days. All games are slated to start at 3 p.m. and will be played regardless of the outcome. Admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend.

Among the returning talent from last season's squad are 17 letterwinners, including 2012 All-Big 12 honorees in pitcher Kyle Martin, catcher Troy Stein, infielders Blake Allemand and Mikey Reynolds, and outfielder Chance Bolcerek.

The Fall World Series matchup will feature the Cadets against the Roughnecks.

The Cadets, who will wear maroon throughout the week, are led by nine returning letter-winners with Jason Freeman (RHP), Kyle Martin (RHP), Gandy Stubblefield (RHP), Cole Lankford (C/INF), Daniel Mengden (UTL), Blake Allemand (INF), Charlie Curl (INF), Krey Bratsen (OF), and Chance Bolcerek (OF). Newcomers to be featured on the Cadets squad include Roman Brown (RHP), Jason Jester (RHP), Matt Kent (LHP), Greg Maisto (LHP), Hunter Melton (RHP), Patrick Michon (RHP), Nate Sorenson (LHP), Jaxton McNair (INF), Corey Raley (INF), Danny Holst (OF), and Ryan Rand (OF).

The Roughnecks, who will wear grey throughout the week, will be feature eight letter-winners and 14 newcomers. Returning letter-winners for the Roughnecks include Rafael Pineda (RHP), Corey Ray (RHP), Parker Ray (RHP), Mitchell Nau (C), Troy Stein (C), Mikey Reynolds (INF), Jace Statum (OF), and Brandon Wood (OF). Newcomers featured on the Roughnecks squad include Zach Brashear (RHP), Rex Hill (LHP), Justin Holder (RHP), Grayson Long (RHP), A.J. Minter (LHP/OF), Ty Schlottmann (LHP), Andrew Vinson (RHP/INF), Andrew Brown (INF), Drew Featherston (INF), Logan Taylor (INF), Jonathon Moroney (OF), and J.B. Moss (OF).

Tuesday Pitching Matchup: Martin vs. Pineda
Wednesday Pitching Matchup: Freeman vs. C. Ray
Thursday Pitching Matchup: Stubblefield vs. Long

Texas A&M baseball will begin its inaugural season in the SEC on Feb. 15 when it hosts University of Illinois-Chicago in a three-game set at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
