CORVALLIS, Oregon -- Texas A&M knocked UC-Santa Barbara out of the NCAA tournament with a 5-4 victory Sunday afternoon.
The Aggies will face host Oregon State tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN3. If Texas A&M wins they will play the Beavers Monday at 7 p.m. with a spot in the Super Regionals on the line.
Rafael Pineda pitched 6 and 2/3 innings and got the win for A&M. Jason Jester came into the game in the 7th and picked up a seven out save, his 14th save of the season to set a new school single-season record.
Mikey Reynolds had three hits and scored two runs.
Texas A&M got to Nesovic in the first with Reynolds' leadoff double and Hunter Melton's RBI single. The Aggies added three more in the third, highlighted by a two-run double by Cole Lankford.
After Santa Barbara scored in the sixth, Texas A&M upped the lead to 5-1 in the seventh on Jace Statum's sacrifice fly.
The Gauchos answered with three runs on four hits in the bottom half, but it was as close as they could come.
