COLLEGE STATION -- Things got physical and a bit chippy as the Aggies broke out the shoulder pads for day of fall camp.
The team worked out for a little over two hours on the Coolidge Grass Practice Fields.
Early in the practice freshman Sabian Holmes caught a pass from Johnny Manziel, and instead of letting him go out of bounds defensive back Floyd Raven knocked him to the ground. Head coach Kevin Sumlin did not like the tackle and sent Raven to the sidelines.
"It's getting a little bit heated out there, which y'all probably saw early today. But competition is a good thing and we've got to keep competing to get to where we want to be," said Sumlin after practice.
The Aggies return to practice Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Their first full pads workout is set for Wednesday.
