Aggies in Fourth at Alamo Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The Texas A&M women’s golf team finished the first round of the Alamo Invitational hosted by UTSA at the Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch in fourth place.

The Aggies finished the day with a team score of 289, just one over par. Oklahoma is currently leading the tournament with an impressive score of 279 (-9), while SMU (-2) and Tulane (-1) follow behind. Host school UTSA is in fifth with a score of 290 (+2), with LSU (+3), Baylor (+3), Tennessee (+4), Kentucky (+4), East Carolina (+6), Louisville (+12), Texas State (+13), Colorado (+15), Nebraska (+20) and North Texas (+23) trailing sequentially.

Aggie senior Sarah Beth Davis carded four birdies to lead the team during the first round with a score of 69 (-3) and placing sixth individually. Junior Natalie Reeves was not too far behind, recording a score of 70 (-2) and tying for seventh place individually. Reeves also carded four birdies and eagled the fifth hole. Junior Katerina Ruzickova shot two over par for a score of 74, while senior Mary Michael Maggio and junior Chelsea Mocio rounded out the A&M contingency each with a score of 78 (+4).

The second round will begin Monday morning at 8:30. The Aggies will begin teeing off from the first hole at 9:10 with LSU and UTSA. Live scoring for the event is available at GolfStat.com.
