SANTA MONICA, CA --Texas A&M tied a school record by placing five on the 2012 Division I PING All-Central Region Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.

Seniors Jordan Russell and Geoff Shaw, junior Cameron Peck, sophomore Johannes Veerman and freshman Ty Dunlap represented the Aggies on the 25-member squad and gave A&M more honorees than any other school in the region.

Russell and Peck were named to the team for the third consecutive year, while Shaw, Veerman and Dunlap were all honored for the first time in their respective careers.

It was the third time in school history that the Aggies had five all-region honorees, with the most recent coming in 2010.

Texas A&M, which won the Big 12 title last month for the first time in program history, is participating in the NCAA Championship this week at Riviera Country Club outside Los Angeles.
