COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Aggie swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Breeja Larson signed autographs and took pictures with her fans Saturday morning at College Station Middle School during the Aggie Swim Club's Team Intrasquad Meet.
Larson won gold in London by swimming the breaststroke leg of the preliminaries of the 4x100 Medley Relay.
She said getting the gold has changed her perspective. "I'm a lot more appreciative. It's really neat to see all these kids here and have them realize what it is and just to have them tell me and my other teammates how inspirational that we've been to them has been great. Honestly I couldn't have done this without my other teammates pushing me. All the other Aggies Olympians that were there have just made it all a great experience."
The event also served as a fund raiser for the Belobraydic family. 15-year-old Matt is a member of the Aggie Swim Club. He lost his mother Geneanne to cancer in May and the Swim Club helped raised about $3,000 for the Belobraydic family today.
