Chafee to Represent Texas A&M at Pin Oak Charity Invitational

Texas-Texas A&M senior Lia Chafee will represent the Aggie equestrian program on Saturday afternoon when she takes part in the second annual Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Collegiate Invitational. The event is scheduled get underway at 5 p.m. at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center.

Chafee is one of eight collegians to participate in the single-elimination, bracket-style competition over fences. She will open against LSU's Gabrielle LeBoeuf in the quarterfinal round.

A native of Little Compton, R.I., Chafee leads the Aggie fences riders with an 8-4 record this season and has collected two MVP awards. The All-American will end her career next month as the winningest hunter seat rider in school history.

Fans wearing a collegiate logo t-shirt will be admitted free. General public tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up with the proceeds going to charities such as Texas Children's Hospital, the Houston-area Ronald McDonald House and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance. The Great Southwest Equestrian Center is located at 2501 S. Mason Road in Katy.
