COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M men’s tennis standout Jeremy Efferding has been named the Texas Region Player to Watch, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced today.
Currently ranked No. 18 in the national ITA singles rankings, Efferding became the first player in A&M history to defeat the No. 1 ranked player in the country when he upset Alex Domijan of Virginia, 6-3, 7-6 (4), on March 13.
More recently, the Boca Raton native received an at-large bid to the NCAA singles individual championships to be held later this month following the conclusion of the team championships.
The sophomore is tied for the second on the team in singles wins with a 16-9 record, while taking over the duties at the No. 1 line at the start of conference play.
