COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M is not set to begin their SEC cross over rivalry with South Carolina until 2013, but by luring new Athletic Director Eric Hyman from Columbia to College Station, you could argue the Aggies already have the first victory in the series.
Hyman left South Carolina after seven years to take over the athletic program at Texas A&M.
Hyman's ties to the SEC will help the Aggies during their transition into the new league and it will also make for an interesting storyline when A&M faces the Gamecocks.
Hyman said, "I think there's going to be a few people from South Carolina looking forward to playing us in 2013. I'm going to look forward and all of our people are going to look forward to playing them but I might be a little more nervous than everybody else. That's one I'd like to do fairly well with."
The Aggies and Gamecocks have never met on the football field.
