Men's Tennis Update from ITA All-American

TULSA, OK -- An excellent day for Texas A&M in Tulsa at the ITA All-American qualifying singles at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center as true freshman Shane Vinsant took down the No. 15 seed Patrick Kawka from BYU while sophomore Jeremy Efferding defeated Hunter Callahan from Ohio State, 6-1, 7-6 (0), to advance to Tuesday’s second round of the ITA All-American qualifying singles at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Vinsant and Efferding will advance to the second round as Vinsant faces Ashok Narayan from Columbia at 11:30 a.m. and Efferding tangles with Max Wennakoski from VCU at 9 a.m.

Two true freshmen, Harrison Adams from New Braunfels and Shane Vinsant from Keller, will team together to face the No. 16 seeded tandem of Anis Ghorbel and James McKie of Drake no earlier than 4 p.m. in the second round while junior Alberto Bautista from McAllen and Efferding from Boca Raton, Florida, will face the No. 9 seeded duo of Dominique and Yannick Maden of Clemson in a match that will start before 4:30 p.m.
