YOUNGSVILLE, Louisiana – Texas A&M catcher Mitchell Nau was recognized as the Texas Collegiate League Warstic Player of the Week for his recent efforts with the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
From June 18-23, Nau hit .500 with a .850 slugging percentage to lead Acadiana to a 4-2 week. He went 10-for-20, including five extra-base hits over the stretch. He tallied four doubles, one home run, three RBI, four walks and two stolen bases.
On the season, Nau leads the TCL in hitting with a .373 batting average. He has 12 runs, six doubles, one home run and seven RBI in 15 games for the Cane Cutters. Acadiana currently stands in third place in the TCL standings with an 11-13 record.
As a sophomore, Nau appeared in 42 games for Texas A&M, including 34 starts, hitting .218 with 10 runs, six doubles, two home runs and 22 RBI.
