Official Texas A&M Southeastern Conference Flag Raising on Monday

COLLEGE STATION— A ceremonial Southeastern Conference (SEC) flag-raising ceremony will be conducted outside the Texas A&M University Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium adjacent to Kyle Field on Monday, July 2 at 10 a.m. to commemorate the entrance of the Aggies to the SEC. Everyone is invited to attend.
Texas A&M President Dr. R. Bowen Loftin and Interim Director of Athletics Dr. John Thornton will make some brief opening comments. Flags of the 14 SEC institutions will be raised on the flag poles in front of the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium (Lot 62) by Aggie student-athletes representing the 20 intercollegiate sports sponsored by Texas A&M.
Various Aggie coaches, student-athletes and administrators will be available for media interviews, and a reception will be held in the lobby of the facility. Limited parking is available in Lot 62 off of Wellborn Road, and additional parking is available across the railroad tracks from the press box of Kyle Field in the West Campus garage.
Texas A&M’s move to the SEC becomes official as of Sunday, July 1, 2012.
