COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M equestrian sophomore Logan Pluhar’s successes in horsemanship in the past three meets earned her SEC October Rider of the Month honors, the Southeastern Conference office announced today.
The Canyon, Texas, native went 2-1 on the month, and added two Most Outstanding Player awards to her tally. This is the first Rider of the Month accolade of Pluhar’s young career.
Pluhar had wins against No. 10 SMU and No. 3 South Carolina, earning MOP against both schools. Her 78.5 against South Carolina currently stands as Texas A&M’s highest horsemanship score of the year. The sophomore also competes in reining, and her tie in that event against USC clinched the Aggies’ win against the Gamecocks. Pluhar’s only loss this month came against No. 5 Kansas State when she dropped a 2.5-point decision to the meet’s horsemanship MOP.
The ninth-ranked Aggies (2-1, 1-0 SEC) travel to Springtown, Texas, Friday to ride at No. 5 TCU. To learn more about Texas A&M equestrian, log on to AggieAthletics.com and follow @AggieEquestrian on Twitter.
