BRYAN, TX -- The speculation is starting to heat up. Friday afternoon Texas A&M President Dr. R. Bowen Loftin is expected to be given the power by the University Board of Regents to identify, negotiate and execute an employment agreement for Texas A&M's next Athletic Director.

If the rumors are correct Dr. Loftin's target will be on South Carolina A. D. Eric Hyman.

While no A&M official is talking, reports in Columbia, South Carolina, say that Hyman will visit with South Carolina University President Harris Pastides Friday.

Hyman has been at South Carolina since 2005.

He was named the 2003 - 04 Street and Smith's Business Journal National Athletics Director of the Year.

Under Hyman's leadership, the South Carolina Athletics Department has made tremendous strides in becoming a nationally prominent Division 1-A athletics program with the goal of competing for championships in all sports, while winning back to back National Championships in baseball in 2010 and 2011.

Hyman has also served as the athletic director at TCU, Miami of Ohio University, and VMI.
