IOWA CITY, Iowa – Texas A&M junior transfer Rebecca St. Germain became the 13th Aggie to earn a trip to the NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday at the NCAA Zone D Championships at the University of Iowa.
St. Germain, from San Antonio, Texas, earned his spot at the women’s national meet by virtue of a sixth-place finish in the three-meter dive. The LSU transfer posted a 12-dive score of 606.40, and will join fellow divers Jaele Patrick and Janie Potvin and 10 swimmer teammates at the NCAA meet March 15-17 at Auburn University.
For the second straight night, the Aggies swept the top two places with Patrick taking gold with 706.90 and Potvin grabbing runner-up honors in 687.25. On Thursday, Potvin took first-place honors in the one-meter and Patrick placed second.
The lone Aggie remaining with a chance to earn a NCAA berth is sophomore Jessica Macauley, who will compete in her best event, the 10-meter platform dive, on Saturday.
