COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Texas A&M football team has reached the halfway point of the 2013 season and with a 5 & 1 record - the big question is how successful will they be?
While that is a tough question to answer, head Coach Kevin Sumlin did address the mind set of his team Tuesday and points to three plays late in last week's win over Ole Miss as examples.
1) Johnny Manziel's scramble on 4th down where he didn't slide, but dove for the first down.
2) The very next play after Johnny's first down dive was the pass to Mike Evans where he didn't go out of bounds, but hurdled a defender in an attempt to get more yardage.
3) Tra Carson's run on 3rd and 1 where he picked up 9 yards setting up Josh Lambo's game winning field goal.
All examples of where this team is - doing whatever it takes to win.
"You had some guys that were going after the win," said Sumlin.
"Like I said that's contagious to everybody. As much as you don't want certain things to happen (players getting hurt), I think what makes those guys who they are and where this team's attitude is headed."
"You don't want to stifle that," concluded Sumlin.
The 7th ranked Aggies will host 24th ranked Auburn Saturday afternoon at 2:30 on KBTX and CBS Sports.
