COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M wide receiver Ryan Swope is looking to follow up his impressive junior season with a solid senior campaign. In 2011 Swope set a school record for receptions in season with 89. He also set the school record for receiving yards in a season with 1207. His 11 touchdown receptions were second all time for touchdown catches in a season.
Swope could have left school after his junior season and entered the NFL draft. Instead he came back for one more year of football in Aggieland. Swope said he wants to win. "The reason I came back, I just want to win football games. I feel like it is a great opportunity with a great coaching staff to do great things and I have learned so many new things, new techniques from Coach Beaty, Coach Kingsbury and Coach Sumlin that has just improved my game tremendously. The biggest thing is I just want to come back, play in the SEC, compete and win football games."
Texas A&M will open the 2012 season August 30 against Louisiana Tech at the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana. The game will kick-off at 6:30 and will be televised on ESPNU.
