AUSTIN, Texas—The 14th-ranked Texas A&M men’s golf team returns to the links this weekend when the Aggies participate in the 46th Annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate at the University of Texas Golf Club.

Teams will play two rounds Friday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. Saturday’s final round will feature a split-tee start beginning at 8:15 a.m. The par-71, 7,412-yard UT Golf Club is located 2200 University Club Drive in the Steiner Ranch area of northwest Austin (zip 78732), near the intersection of RM 620 and RM 2222.

“This is probably the last time we’ll be playing in Austin for a while, and we would like to leave on a positive note,” head coach J.T. Higgins said. “The course is always challenging but because the event is a little earlier I think it will be softer and the scores should be lower than in the past. We will still need to play smart and we are expecting to get their best on their home course, but I like the way we are playing and our discipline so I am expecting a really strong showing.”

A&M joins top-ranked and host Texas and No. 20 New Mexico as the three ranked squads in the 12-team field, which also features College of Charleston, North Texas, St. John’s, TCU, UT Arlington, Utah, Sam Houston State, Texas Tech and Wake Forest. This year will mark the Aggies’ 29th appearance all-time in the Morris Williams, a tournament that dates back to 1967.

The Aggies will feature the same lineup that posted a fourth-place finish in a loaded field at last week’s Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas. Representing A&M will be senior All-American Jordan Russell, junior All-American Cameron Peck, redshirt sophomore Jade Scott, redshirt freshman Greg Yates and true freshman Ty Dunlap—who finished second at Southern Highlands, two shots back of the medalist. Senior Geoff Shaw will also participate as an individual.
