COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M will be the first institution in North America to install Match Analysis’ Fixed K2 Panoramic Camera system into the Aggies’ soccer stadium, Ellis Field.
The Aggie soccer program has been on the leading edge of soccer coaching technology since 2002 when it pioneered the use of high-tech video analysis in women's soccer. Texas A&M continues to lead the way by introducing the latest and greatest technologies for its players.
Match Analysis’ K2 Panoramic Camera is composed of three separate cameras whose outputs are stitched together into a single full field video in real time. The Mambo Panoramic Video produced is a high-definition view of the field from corner flag to corner flag and an ideal perspective for tactical analysis. This allows the A&M coaches and players to see video of their games and training sessions in a similar way to that of a spectator at a live event, and is not confined to the limits of a traditional single camera’s view.
“We’re very excited to see the new K2 camera system installed at our stadium,” Texas A&M head Coach G Guerrieri said. “The Mambo panoramic video captures the entire soccer field in one view, allowing us to see the critical off-the ball-movement as well as team shape and other tactical information previously unavailable. This provides us with a tremendous competitive advantage in being able to communicate our vision for the game and preparing our players.”
Match Analysis is the leading pioneer in high performance analytical tools for soccer. Over the past decade, Match Analysis has worked with almost every top professional club in North America and top media outlets including the New York Times’ coverage of the 2010 World Cup. In 2012, Match Analysis clients included all 18 Premier Division clubs in Mexico, 11 MLS clubs, the United States, Mexican, and Canadian National teams, and a wide array of college and amateur sides. Texas A&M has been the most successful soccer program in the history of the Big 12 Conference, winning their 12th Conference Championship in 2011 and a No. 12 NCAA National RPI ranking. The Aggies have advanced to each of the last 17 NCAA Championship Tournaments. The team is currently on summer break, but will return to action this August after hosting several Texas A&M Soccer Camp sessions on their College Station, Texas campus.
