Texas A&M’s Patrick Takes Second at Australia Olympic Trials

ADELAIDE, Australia – 2012 NCAA Diver of the Meet Jaele Patrick of Texas A&M qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London with a runner-up finish on the three-meter springboard on Tuesday at the Australian Olympic Team Nomination Trials.

Patrick, from Lilydale, Victoria, Australia, finished with a score of 960.55, trailing only 2008 Olympian Sharleen Stratton, who won with a total of 1,052.30 points. Patrick held off the third- and fourth-place finishers by less than five points.

Patrick wrapped up a spectacular 2011-12 collegiate season for the Aggies last month with a NCAA title in the three-meter dive and a runner-up finish in the one-meter dive at the 2012 NCAA Women’s Championships.
