COLLEGE STATION, TX -- Texas A&M’s Mary Michael Maggio and Katerina Ruzickova were selected to the 2012 All-Big 12 Women’s Golf Team, the conference office announced Thursday.

From Conway, Ark., Maggio earned the Big 12 award in her first season as an Aggie. The junior transfer is coming off her first collegiate win with the individual title at the Big 12 Championship. She was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month and to the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team. Maggio’s 74.73 stroke average and five top 20 finishes are second-best for the Aggies.

A sophomore from Ostrava, Czech Republic, Ruzickova earned the Big 12 honor for the second straight year. She leads the team with a 73.85 stroke average and six top 20 finishes. Ruzickova most recently tied for eighth place and made the All-Tournament team at the Big 12 Championship. Her best finish of the year was a tie for third at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.

The All-Big 12 team was identified using the top 10 highest-ranked golfers according to the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings following the Big 12 Championship. Ruzickova was ranked No. 41 and Maggio came in at No. 73.
