DENVER – Texas A&M senior Tyra White was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association as a 2012 WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Honorable Mention.
From Kansas City, Mo., White earned the honor for the second straight year and became just the third Aggie women’s basketball player, next to Takia Starks (2008, ‘09) and Danielle Adams (10, ’11), to be named a two-time WBCA All-American.
White finished the 2011-12 season as Texas A&M’s leading scorer with 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The six-foot guard was an All-Big 12 First Team selection for the second consecutive season. She started 89 straight games between her sophomore and senior year and reached double figures 26 times this season. White ranks fourth all-time in career field goals (601), seventh in career points (1,482), ninth in career-3-point field goal percentage (.340) and 10th all-time in career rebounds (594).
