COLLEGE STATION, TX -- For the second season in a row, three members of the Texas A&M baseball team were named All-Americans as Thursday Collegiate Baseball honored Tyler Naquin, Ross Stripling and Michael Wacha.

Stripling and Wacha, the Aggies’ co-aces on the pitcher’s mound, each garnered second-team honors, while Naquin represented A&M on the third team. All three players received All-America honors a year ago after helping lead the Aggies to the College World Series.

This season, Stripling has once again been one of the most consistent and dominant performers on the mound, leading the Aggies with 10 wins and 110 strikeouts in 118 innings of work. A year after leading the country in pitching victories, the right-hander is holding opposing hitters to a paltry .221 batting average. Stripling’s most memorable outing of the year came on May 12th against San Diego State when he threw the 11th no-hitter in Texas A&M baseball history, earning National Pitcher of the Week honors after the baseball rarity.

A product of Southlake, Texas, Stripling continues to climb the all-time wins list at Texas A&M, entering this weekend’s NCAA College Station Regional with 31 career victories to place him third in school history.

The Aggies’ Friday night starter throughout the season, Wacha won his first eight decisions of the year and owns an impressive 8-1 record with a 2.21 earned run average, the lowest among the Aggie starting staff. The Texarkana, Texas, native was close to untouchable in many starts this season, most notably on March 23 at Pepperdine when he took a perfect game into the eighth inning. Like Stripling, Wacha is also ascending the all-time wins list at Texas A&M, ending the regular season with 26 career wins to rank seventh all-time.

Stripling and Wacha each were recently selected as semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy. In addition, earlier this month they both joined an exclusive club of only four Texas A&M pitchers in school history to notch 300 career strikeouts.

In addition to his pitching cohorts, Naquin was also named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award this year after following up last season’s Big 12 Player of the Year campaign with another All-American season. The Spring, Texas, native leads the Aggies with a .384 average while also pacing the club in runs (53), doubles (15), and triples (6). In addition to contributing three home runs, 46 RBI and a career-best 21 stolen bases, the rifle-armed outfielder has all but neutralized opponents’ running game when hits find their way into right field. Naquin brings a seven-game hitting streak into the NCAA Tournament after earning a spot on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team last weekend.

All three players along with their Aggie teammates are back in action this weekend when they host the NCAA College Station Regional on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Texas A&M will take the field for the first time at the event on Friday night when it faces Dayton at 6:35 p.m.
