Posted: 9:40 PM Texas A&M senior Jennifer Nichols and incoming freshman Miranda Leek have earned two of three available spots on the USA Archery Olympic team. Nichols is a current member of the Department of Recreational Sports’ Archery Club and will be competing in the Olympics for a third time, competing in Bejing in 2008 and Athens in 2004. Leek will be a future Archery Club member beginning in fall 2012, her first semester at Texas A&M University.

Looking to his right, he saw his Texas A&M teammate Johannes Veerman, who had just made his way to the nearby No. 1 green to start his round. “Hey Jordan,” Veerman yelled with a big smile. “Are you sure you’re playing the correct tees?” The question was understandable. The last time Veerman saw a leaderboard, Russell was 5 under on the day and 11 under for the tournament, just about lapping the field at that early stage of the second round.
