DALLAS (AP) - Former Dallas City Councilman James Fantroy Senior
has a choice to make: He can publicly admit to embezzling
government grant money, or go to prison for a month.
The ultimatum came from a judge during Fantroy's sentencing
hearing Wednesday for stealing more than $20,000 from a Paul Quinn
College community development fund.
If Fantroy snubs the judge's offer, he'll still be confined home
for 180 days followed by two years probation. He must also pay more
than $17,000 restitution, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Fantroy's attorney says he'll discuss the judge's offer with his
client this weekend.
