An Austin-area resident, who apparently takes his cable TV pretty seriously, might want to start checking out Court TV.

Authorities say Brett Wright of Del Valle pulled a gun on two cable service technicians while they were working inside his home Saturday.

They were able to escape and notify police. But Wright wouldn't budge, even after the Austin SWAT team surrounded his home.

Authorities finally managed to distract Wright and take him into custody. He's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Actally the gun was pulled when the techs were trying to collect the COD. This is a Time Warner Cable area. I doubt anyone was "pocketing trinkets" or the man would have taken less than 4 hours to come out of the house or would have answered when the original officers responded.

Pay your bill!!!!!! Maybe he was so behind on his bill it took two people to collect. Its ashame what cable t.v. would make us do. Kill, still, hate, cheat, etc..............

See, I told you guys to switch to Direct TV!!! I know how the guy feels though. I wanted to do the samething to the Cox and Suddenlink people until I switched over to Direct TV.

I have seen this happen before -who ever calls 911 first gets the attention. That is why we should not jump to conclusions when you read/hear something in the media. Anonymous is right, there very well could have been a good reason and the news just picks up the police report.

Court TV is no longer, it changed to Tru TV. Nice research. They must be charging what suddenlink is for their awful service and poor channel selection!

Of course you have to consider the possibility that he caught the techs pocketing trinkets and when he tried to hold them at gunpoint, they ran and called 911 before he could. And since in the libertal Mecca of Austin, pointing a firearm at somebody is SOOO much more criminal than lifting some trivial piece of property like your grandmother's diamond ring, he might have got a bit incensed that the cops let the thieves go dispose of the loot because they were busy taking HIM into custody.

The guy must have been using Suddenlink Cable. I think we should all donate to his defense fund!
