Funeral services are Tuesday in Waco for Brandee Thorpe, 20, and her children, Austyn Fontenot, 2, and Kinzee Fontenot, 1.

They and Gregory Howell, 25, of Robinson died late Thursday night when they were struck by an SUV as they walked in the middle of the northbound Interstate 35 frontage road near West after Howell’s truck ran out of gas.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday night at Pecan Grove Funeral Home at 3124 Robinson Dr. in Waco.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church at 1201 W. Highway 6 in Waco.

Burial follows at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Services for Howell were pending Saturday at Wilkerson Hatch Bailey funeral home in Waco.

A fund has been set up to help with the Thorpe family’s funeral expenses.

Checks should be made out to “Thorpe Funeral/Pecan Grove Funeral Home” and sent to

Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, TX 76706.

The four victims were pronounced dead at the scene Thursday night after the SUV crested a hill and struck the four just after 10 p.m. as they walked in the middle of the frontage road.

Authorities said the two adults were carrying the children.

The victims were hurled about 100 feet by the force of the impact.

The driver of the SUV wasn’t charged.

I feel horrible for the two babies that were killed in this accident and the driver of the SUV who hit them. I can't imagine the guilt that the driver is feeling, even though there is no way that they were at fault. God bless all involved.

Uuuuggh that is so sad. Poor babies :( May god be with their families during this difficult time. I feel for the driver of the SUV as well! I'm sure they must be going through agony. God bless them all!
