A 42-year-old man who now lives in the Bell County town of Rogers is due in Platte County, Neb. District Court later this month to face three charges stemming from the sexual assault of his 12-year-old niece.

Authorities say the man, who used to live in Monroe, Neb. assaulted his niece several times over a year beginning in June 2007.

The niece now lives in Texas.

Court papers show the girl told Texas authorities that her uncle cajoled her into sex when she and her mother stayed with him in Monroe.

She also said she feared he would harm her if she told anyone.

His name was not reported to protect the identity of the girl.
