DALLAS (June 10, 2009)—Dallas police issued an Amber Alert Wednesday morning for an 8-month-old girl who was kidnapped late Tuesday night by a man who tried to attack the infant’s mother.

Daisja Weaver is black, weighs about 20 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

The infant was kidnapped just before midnight Tuesday from the Oak Run Apartments in North Dallas.

The girl’s mother told police a man entered her apartment at around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday and tried to assault her.

She told officers she was able to fight the man off, but said the would-be attacker grabbed the infant as he fled.

Police were searching the immediate area on foot and from the air.

The infant was wearing a purple outfit, police said.

The man who kidnapped her was dressed in red and black, but no other description was available.

It’s not known whether he had a vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dallas police at (214) 671-4268.

Well theres no way I can believe this story, out of all the crime in the world, why would they,(he) take a baby? I just think It's something more to this, If I'm wrong I pray that the baby is ok and they find her

No way is this the whole story - she knows her attacker or she was involved somehow. Only upset fathers kidnap their own babies and we all know mothers harm their own children and blame everyone else first. Just wait the truth will come out.
