Crystal Galny anchors News 3 at Noon. A true hometown girl, Crystal was born and raised in Bryan and graduated from Bryan High School.

She joined KBTX as a videotape editor in September 2000, began reporting shortly thereafter, and went on to anchor every show at KBTX while serving as the station's managing editor.

Crystal is honored to co-host the Jefferson Awards for Public Service each year at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. One of her favorite memories at KBTX was the week she spent in Washington, D.C. reporting from Capitol Hill about local interests.

Before joining KBTX, Crystal interned for CNN in the White House. She assisted CNN correspondents with the series, "The Clinton Legacy," and with CNN's coverage of George W. Bush's cabinet appointments following the Florida recount in November 2000.

Crystal also interned at the U.S. State Department press office in 2000. One of her favorite memories was helping with a luncheon at Secretary of State Madeline Albright's Georgetown home for Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. She also assisted the White House and State Department press offices during the Middle East peace talks at Camp David.

Crystal earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in 2001 from Texas A&M University, where she was also an executive officer of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She spent part of her senior year in Italy, where she studied Italian Art History and Post-War European Cinema through Southern Methodist University.

Crystal is a professional board member of the Brazos Valley Rape Crisis Center, board member of Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley, and serves as president of the local Society of Professional Journalists. She also enjoys being an advisor to Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Texas A&M University.

When Crystal isn’t working, she is spending time with her husband, Brent Zwerneman, a sportswriter with the San Antonio Express-News who covers Texas A&M. The couple welcomed their first child, Will, in 2009. When Crystal and Brent aren’t competing for a scoop, they enjoy working out, riding their bikes or boating at Lake Livingston.
