Shane McAuliffe

Anchor

mcauliffe@kbtx.com

Shane McAuliffe brings more than four years of reporting and anchoring experience to KBTX.  After spending a year and a half in Austin as a sports reporter for News 8 Austin, Shane is happy to be at KBTX and excited to be at one of the most reputable stations in the state.

While the Longhorns were fun to cover, the chance to cover the tradition and excitement of Texas A&M couldn't be passed up.  Shane also will bring you the untold stories of the Brazos Valley and features that you may never knew existed in the world of sports here in B/CS.

During his time at News 8, Shane didn't just cover the Longhorns, but also the Cowboys, Texans and Spurs, not to mention numerous high school state championship games. The native Houstonian was also awarded by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters with a second place award for Central Texas' best sports story of 2007.

From 2005 to 2007 Shane worked down in the city by the bay, Corpus Christi, at the CBS affiliate KZTV. Shane served as the weekend sports anchor and reporter.  Prior to the 'Tour de Texas' as Shane refers to his career, he started in Abilene at KRBC. He started as a news reporter and then served as the weekend sports anchor.  Shane met his fiancé, News 3's Meredith Stancik, in Abilene.  Now with a wedding in the near future, Shane is happy he can be with his fiancé as they prepare for their wedding.

You can catch Shane every morning at 6 a.m. on Brazos Valley This Morning, and on Aggie Gameday on KBTX.
