Education and Post-Graduate Training

Alan received his M.D. from Boston University in 1981. He holds additional graduate degrees from Boston University and from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of New Hampshire.  

Teaching Interests

Dr. Xenakis’ current duties include lecturing and teaching small student groups.  He is also available to serve on panels in medical ethics, leadership in medicine and in medical humanities courses.  His prior vast experience in the media and in communications is timely for the institution as we expand to multiple teaching sites and rely more on technology.   He has produced several award winning consumer health educations videos, hosted radio and television broadcast programs and has made numerous guest appearances on many major television and radio networks.
