KBTX News 3 Tours

KBTX-TV began serving the Brazos Valley May 22, 1957 from a four-room brick building on East 29th Street in Bryan.

KBTX was the first television station in the Brazos Valley, the first to transmit in color, and the first to cover live news, sports and weather and community events using live remote vehicles.

Today KBTX is Bryan-College Station’s only full-power Digital/High Definition television station, covering 17 counties and reaching more than 2 million people. As the region’s technology leader, KBTX is also home to the area’s leading information website, kbtx.com and is available through mobile and portable devices, on numerous cable systems and on satellite.

During a tour of KBTX, students will have the opportunity to see what happens behind-the-scenes. They will also have a chance to talk with members of the news team and see what it is like to be a meteorologist when they get in front of the “green wall”.

Depending on the group size, a tour could last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 ½ hours.Tours of KBTX are free!
