George Carlin made words you can't say on TV famous. He also helped out Aggies wanting to be on television and in newspapers and magazines.

For years, Carlin's name has been attached to a scholarship for Aggie journalism students.

The Joe C. Monroe-George Carlin scholarship is one of the remaining financial aids for Ags looking to minor in journalism.

Carlin got a break in the radio business in Louisiana from Monroe, who also managed a local radio station.

The famed comedian died Sunday at the age of 71.

George Carlin was an icon. His humor may have offended some but he made you "think" as well as laugh. I will miss him. I have seen him live and as a comic he was without equal in many ways. Heaven just may be bit more humorous today!
