The family of Roger Stone held a press conference Thursday morning in Houston, in which they discussed the investigation into the sinking of the Cynthia Woods.

During that press conference, Roger Stone's widow, Linda, announced that she would sue four parties, including the designer of the Cynthia Woods yacht and the boat's builder.

Linda claims the four parties, which does not include Texas A&M, haven't been cooperative in the accident investigations.

53-year-old Stone was the safety officer who died when the sail boat he was on capsized June 6 after its keel fell off causing the boat to flip over.

Stone is credited for saving at least two of the crew members before drowning in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Texas A&M Sailing Team was was participating in a sailing race between Galveston and Veracruz, Mexico when the Cynthia Woods sank.

I don't blame the widow for the lawsuit. They should be cooperative with the information unless they're hiding something.

This has nothing to do with greed! If this boat had been repaired properly this "accident" would have never happened! Period! I'd sue everyone I could if this happened to one of my loved ones, and trust me, this would have nothing to do with money. What's wrong is WRONG! People in this world need to stop half ass fixing things...especially when this could be the end result....what a tragedy. And you pathetic people who think otherwise, geez, are you freaking jealous??????????? Get real!

Why did they not sue the governor of Texas or the President? Didn't this happen in federal waters? If so, the government should be 100% responsible for this accident.

The sleaziness factor really depends on the motive of the lawsuit. If they are only after information that pertains the accident then I can completely agree. If they've hired some ambulance chaser lawyer and are looking for a big payoff then that’s another. Let's all withhold judgment until we discover the nature of the lawsuit.

You have to love the education level of some of the people who respond on here. Check out the post 12:03 pm "if the boat WAS repaired properly or something like that, then yes sue" it sounds like a very sad accident but according to this person if someone did there job right then sue them.

Ridiculous!! Why can't an accident just be an accident anymore!?

I would need to know more about what really happened with the boat beofre I judged their actions. If it is truly an accident, then I am sorry but move on. If the boat was repaired properly or something like that, then yes sue.

Of course they want retribution, who wouldn't? I have no idea what the safety records of the boat show, but I'm pretty sure that under normal boating excursions, that the keel doesn't usually fall off. All of my best to Mr. Stone's family.

So many people want to blame someone else to make a buck. It was an accident, OK? Get over it! Sleezy lawyers - they're lower than a used car salesman!
