A solemn Texas A&M tradition continues Tuesday night with observance of Silver Taps in front of the Academic Building on campus.

The following will be remembered: Whitley DeKoch Lowry, a sophomore agricultural leadership and development major from Kingsville who died April 4; Kyle Ross Rosebrock, a senior computer science major from Buda who died April 12; Mary Elizabeth Farmer, a graduate student in psychology from College Station who died May 15; Spencer Bonham Knecht, a junior geology major from Spring who died June 18; Cassandra Jeannine Scott, a veterinary medicine graduate student from Sherman who died July 27; and Olanrewaju (Lanre) Olusola Sanu, a senior chemical engineering major from Houston who died Aug. 2.

Their names are on a list posted at the flagpole in the Academic Plaza. In their honor, the campus will be darkened at 10:20 p.m. At 10:30, an honor guard from the Ross Volunteer Company will march to the plaza, where its members will present a 21-rifle salute.

Buglers from the Aggie Band, unseen in the darkness, will play a special arrangement of Taps. The tolling of Albritton Tower bells will signal the end of the ceremony.

This report is very vague. Unless you were familiar with "Silver Taps" you would have no idea what was going on, and why it was a news story. Please pay more attention to detail in the future. I shouldn't have to use Google to augment a basic news story.
